Title:  Empowering Pediatric Providers to Enhance Management of Type 2 Inflammatory Conditions in Children

Release | Expiration: March 14, 2025 - July 15, 2026

Statement of Need: Pediatric Type 2 inflammatory diseases, including atopic dermatitis, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), and asthma, present significant challenges for healthcare providers due to their complex, multisystemic nature and the evolving therapeutic landscape. Many pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants encounter gaps in knowledge related to early identification, assessment, and optimal management strategies. Furthermore, limitations in awareness of timely referrals to subspecialists and advancements in biologic therapies hinder the delivery of comprehensive patient care. This educational curriculum fosters peer-based learning through small-group, collaborative experiences that help pediatric clinicians recognize key clinical indicators, apply evidence-based management strategies, facilitate appropriate referrals, and effectively communicate treatment options to patients and families. By integrating real-world clinical insights, this initiative aims to enhance clinical proficiency and improve patient outcomes in pediatric Type 2 inflammatory diseases

Educational Objectives:

  • IDENTIFY common comorbidities associated with Type 2 inflammatory diseases.
  • APPLY best practices to assess and evaluate patients for signs of Type 2 inflammatory diseases, focusing on high-risk indicators
  • INCREASE timely and appropriate referrals to subspecialists for patients with suspected Type 2 inflammatory disorders.
  • COMMUNICATE effectively with patients' families about the benefits of biologic treatments in managing Type 2 inflammatory conditions.

Target Audience: Pediatric health care providers (pediatricians, pediatric NPs and PAs)
